Context:
I have long been a user of Titan since 2020 and have spent a lot of time talking to my friends about the product. I have provided a bunch of feedback to the release notes emails and always love to iterate on ideas in the broader fintech space.
I was catching up with one friend today that was a user of Titan and learned that they recently churned from the platform. I took this opportunity to ask them a few questions as I figured it would be helpful to you. (I have his permission to share)
Background on User:
- Married
- Male, 30yrs old
- Pay: $130k-$170k
- Next saving goal: Buying a house
- Lives in FL
- Titan account balance: $10k
Using Titan
- Why did you join Titan? Clear first answer was the educational aspect (I know from my ambassador days with Titan that this was one of the main value props to users “we let you come behind the scenes”)
- After joining this user would consistently read and keep updated with the educational content. They would click on most notifications and loved getting the behind the scenes view. He felt like he was actually learning something along the way.
- Investment Usage: They contributed $100/bi-weekly and didn’t really focus that much on the returns, he recognized them, but was mainly there for education.
- Other options: This user really didn’t really talk much about other platforms that they used, from the educational side, Titan sounded like the main source. It is likely that they had a retirement account elsewhere. The money he contributed to Titan sounded like excess saving money.
Leaving Titan
There were two main reasons for this user leaving Titan:
